The Designer

Meet Nak
Recognized for his innovative departures from standard metalworking techniques and an experimental aesthetic, Nak Armstrong's award-winning work continues to push the boundaries of design.
After more than a decade in the jewelry industry as the co-founder and creative director of a previous jewelry brand, he launched his eponymous label in 2011 and it was quickly selected by exclusive retailers worldwide, such as Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman, and was featured by national press including W, Instyle, Harper's Bazaar, and Forbes. Nak has also been the recipient several prestigious accolades during his career, including the Fashion Guild International Rising Star Award, the Couture International Award for Platinum, and the CFDA Award for Emerging Talent in Accessory Design.
Today Armstrong lives and works with his husband, Walter, and their precocious Italian greyhound, Roman, in Austin, Texas where the brand is based. Recently, Armstrong opened his first flagship boutique in Austin as part of the Soho House Hotel development in the Soco retail district.

"I’ve always sought out the new, the different. I'm rarely content with what is already available and generally some sort of innovation, whether it be a new material or technique, provides for something truly fresh and modern."
Our Philosophy
All of our pieces are designed with artful intention and carefully handcrafted. Knowing how much thought and appreciate clients put into his pieces has given Nak a new sense of responsibility as a designer to give them the most thoughtful pieces he can at the highest quality.
Nak's quest has always been to make jewelry not look like jewelry. He places a premium on originality, often inventing his own metal-working and construction techniques to achieve his vision. In his latest effort, he has removed the traditional bezel and instead suspends stones in metal frames. A very labor intensive process but one with dramatic results- stone intensive and multi-layered statement pieces that are relatively weightless.
As Nak simply states, "I want to surprise my client but at the same time provide her with beautiful jewelry she can't leave idle in her jewelry box. Discovery and delighting my clients are true joy for me and they always push me to grow and innovate."
