While each design is expertly constructed, from time to time, it may be necessary have a repair performed on your jewelry.
All requests for repairs must be submitted to Nak Armstrong in writing by the retailer. Please visit our Stockists page or email firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance in contacting your Nak Armstrong retailer.
Unless deemed a manufacturing defect, repairs incur charges based on the necessary materials and labor costs. A repair fee and delivery estimate will be provided either prior to or upon receipt of your item, depending on the nature of the repair. Please note that we are not responsible for your item until it is in our possession.
Caring for your jewelry starts with proper wear. That means knowing when to put your jewelry on – and when to take it off.
Put jewelry on after applying cosmetics, hairspray, and lotions, as they contain chemicals that can often damage jewelry. Be mindful in handling gemstones since skin oil can build up over time and dull their appearance.
Remove your jewelry if you're going to do any manual labor, including housework. Gems, even diamonds, can chip or crack if they're knocked against a hard surface.
Jewelry should be removed before diving into a chlorinated swimming pool, or before using household cleaners. Many of these cleaners contain ammonia, and are only safe for diamonds and the more durable colored gems.
Light and heat may also affect a colored gemstone’s durability and color. Just as the sun’s harmful rays can damage our skin, over time and in excess, it can also fade and weaken some gemstones, remove the natural moisture some gems need to keep their beauty. Excessive heat and sudden temperature changes may also fracture the gem.
Jewelry isn't only vulnerable while it's being worn, but it can also suffer damage if it isn't stored properly.
Pieces of jewelry become scratched when they come into contact with one another. We recommend you to store them individually in the packaging given at the time of purchase.
When traveling with jewelry, protect the pieces from scratches or other impact damage by padding the jewelry.
GIA recommends cleaning most colored gems with warm water, mild soap (no detergents), and a soft brush. A pulsed-water dental cleaning appliance and a soft, lint-free cloth can also be used.
